Easy Language

Training course for caregivers with little knowledge of German: A programme that helps them to learn.

Sick people are called patients.
Patients need care.
Caregivers provide this care.
Caregivers are also referred to as nurses. Nurses can be male or female.

Caregivers must be able to understand each other easily.
This is important to avoid mistakes.
Caregivers and patients must also understand each other easily.
But sometimes, that is difficult.
For instance, if the caregiver does not speak German well.

Many caregivers have a migrant background.

That means

  • that they come from another country.
  • They don’t speak German very well.

We want to help these caregivers. We want to help them learn:

  • How to work as a caregiver in Germany.
You can care for sick people in different places.
In hospitals, in care homes, or at home.
That is the same all over the world.
    But the language is different.
And the way you work together is different.
This is something you have to learn.
When you have learned this, you can easily work in another country, too.
  • The important medical terms for caregivers.
Medical terms are difficult but important German terms.
    Every job has special words.
These are the words you need to know.
If you don’t know them, this can lead to mistakes.

We have developed a digital, interactive training to help with all this.

  • Digital means: you use your computer.
  • Interactive means: you can do something with the programme.
For instance:
  • You can do exercises.
  • You can repeat content.
This way, you can learn easily with a computer.

But we can help you even more.
With a special form of training.
You need to wear a special headset for that.
When you wear the headset, you will not see images on a screen.
It will look as if you were seeing everything in the real world.
This is a great way for caregivers to practise.

This is how the training programme supports caregivers:

  • They learn how to care for patients correctly.
  • They learn important German terms.
  • They can prepare for working in Germany.
  • They can prepare for the exam for professional caregivers.

In such an exam, the caregivers prove that they have undergone proper training as caregivers.
They must not make mistakes in the exam.
There are two exams in Germany:
One exam is for people who trained as professional caregivers in Germany.
The other is for people who trained as professional caregivers in another country.
In the exam, the caregivers have to show:

  • That they know German well.
  • That they know how caregivers have to work in Germany.

The training programme is available in many languages.
So that caregivers who come from other countries can easily understand its contents.
Even if they don’t speak German very well.

The training programme helps them prepare for working in Germany.

Caregivers can use the programme for learning when they are in Germany.
But they can also use the programme in another country.
All they need is a computer.

Hospitals and nursing homes can also use the training programme.
For training caregivers in Germany.
Especially for training caregivers who do not speak German well.
